Install bandvan on your phone
bandvan can install straight from the browser — no app store required. The steps differ per platform, so here they are for iPhone, Android, and desktop.
bandvan installs straight from the browser — a real icon on your home screen, its own full-screen window, no store visit needed. The install lives in the browser menu, which is worded differently on every platform; here's each one. Install it on the phone that goes to the show — the one that'll be standing in a loading dock with two bars of signal.
What installing gets you
- One tap to open — an icon beside your other apps.
- The whole screen — no browser chrome on a phone you're reading a day sheet on.
- It survives a dead spot — pages you've opened stay readable when the signal drops.
- It updates itself — no store, no update prompts.
iPhone and iPad
Use Safari — it's the reliable path on iOS.
- Open bandvan in Safari and sign in.
- Tap Share — the square with an arrow, bottom of the screen on a phone, top on an iPad.
- Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
From now on, open it from the icon — a Safari tab is a separate window and won't feel installed.
Android
In Chrome: sign in, and take the Install app banner if it appears. Otherwise: ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen or Install app → Install. Samsung Internet, Firefox and Edge have the same thing under their own menus.
Desktop
Chrome or Edge — click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or find it in the menu (Install page as app / Install this site as an app). Safari on macOS — File → Add to Dock. Installed, bandvan opens in its own window — useful open all day beside your email.
Worth knowing
You sign in per device — installing doesn't carry your session across. It isn't a backup — installing caches the app, not a full offline copy of your tour. Removing it is just removing the icon — nothing in your account changes.
No install option anywhere? You're likely in a private window, or inside another app's mini-browser — Instagram or Slack opening a link, for instance. Open bandvan in the real browser and the option comes back.
