Connect an AI assistant

Let an assistant such as Claude use bandvan for you: what the consent screen asks, what each permission means, how to disconnect, and the address to give it.

You can let an AI assistant use bandvan for you — ask it what's coming up this week, who's on Saturday's roster, or to put a hold on a date. It can also go through your inbox with you — what's new across your teams — and mark the messages read once you've dealt with them. It works through your own account: you sign in, you choose what it may do, and it can never do more than you can yourself.

Your bandvan address for assistants is:

https://app.bandvan.app/mcp

What you're asked when you connect

Connecting opens the bandvan sign-in page. Sign in as usual; then a consent screen names the assistant and lists what it is asking to do. Allow it and the assistant is connected; decline and nothing is shared.

What it can ask for comes in these families, worded as the consent screen words them:

Allowing a family never gives the assistant more than your own role allows. A member's assistant can't change a show, and only the people who can see deal terms in bandvan can let an assistant see them.

Some things no assistant can do, whatever you allow: send an advance or a contract, touch billing, invite or remove people, delete a team, or see and disconnect the apps on your account.

Show presets with an assistant

An assistant can read your show presets and change them for you — "add a parking question to our club preset", "hide the hotel section on the festival one" — and pick which preset a show uses. It changes only what you ask for, and a question you rename keeps the answers already given to it. Deal terms on a preset stay out of its reach. If you edit the same preset in bandvan while it works, one of the two edits can be lost, so let it finish first.

The advance with an assistant

An assistant can fill in a show's advance for you from what it reads — "the promoter says load-in is 4pm and doors at 7:30", "put the hotel from this email on Friday's show" — one part of the advance at a time, the same edit you make on the show page. It sets only what you ask for, and only the fields and questions the show's preset asks; a value it sets replaces what was there, an answer the promoter gave included. It never sends the advance or the promoter link, and it doesn't change whether the show reads as advanced by the promoter. As with presets, an edit you make to the same advance while it works can be lost.

Tours and the roster with an assistant

An assistant can set up a tour for you — "make a fall tour and put these four dates on it" — list your tours, and read one with its shows and who's on them. It can set who's on the tour, the same as adding or removing someone on the tour page: someone it adds goes on every show already on the tour, and someone it takes off comes off all of them. It can also ask someone again whether they can play a show when they haven't answered yet; they're notified again each time, so it does this once, not over and over. Deleting a tour deletes its shows with it, and there's no undo.

Disconnecting

Open Settings and look under Connected apps: every assistant you've connected is listed with what you allowed it and when. Disconnect stops it working with your account straight away. You can connect it again later if you change your mind.

Claude

Claude on the web and the desktop app

  1. Open Claude's Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it bandvan and paste https://app.bandvan.app/mcp as the URL.

Claude Code

Add the server, then sign in from inside Claude Code with /mcp:

claude mcp add --transport http bandvan https://app.bandvan.app/mcp

Other assistants

Any assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server and sign in with OAuth can use the same address. Step-by-step pages for others will appear here as they're tested.
