The calendar feed

One calendar subscription per person, per team, showing the shows you're on — how it decides what you see, and how to subscribe in Google, Apple, or Outlook.

bandvan publishes a live feed your existing calendar app subscribes to — the shows land next to everything else in your life and stay up to date on their own. It's read-only: your calendar pulls from us, nothing you add on your side comes back.

Your link lives on the Calendar screen in bandvan. The buttons there hand it straight to Apple, Google or Outlook; Copy link covers anything else.

Your link is yours

Each link belongs to one person in one team — a bandmate has their own. Play in two acts and you subscribe twice, one calendar per act, which also lets your calendar app colour them separately.

Who sees which shows

• Owners and admins — every show in the team.
• Members — only the shows they're rostered on.

That's checked fresh every time a calendar refreshes, so a role change or a removal takes effect on its own — nobody reissues links.

If a member's calendar looks empty, they're probably not on a roster yet. Being in the team lets someone in; being on a show's roster is what puts that show in their calendar.

What a show looks like

Each show arrives as an all-day banner — Act @ Venue — City — with the venue address, and the day's timed blocks underneath: load-in, soundcheck, doors, your set. Those times come from the advance, so a show fills in as its advance does.

Subscribing

One thing to get right: choose subscribe, not import. Importing copies the shows in once and they never change again; subscribing keeps them live.

Google Calendar

Tap Google on the calendar feed card; Google opens with the link filled in — confirm Add calendar. Do this once on a computer (the Google mobile app can't add calendars by URL) and it appears on your phone too. By hand: calendar.google.com → Settings → Add calendar → From URL.

Apple Calendar — iPhone and iPad

Open bandvan in Safari and tap Apple; Calendar offers to subscribe. By hand: Settings → Calendar → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar → paste the link.

Apple Calendar — Mac

Calendar → File → New Calendar Subscription → paste the link. Set Auto-refresh to every 15 minutes or hourly while touring.

Outlook

Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 keep separate calendars, so the card offers personal and work — pick the one your calendar actually lives in.

Anything else

Copy link, then look for "subscribe by URL" or "internet calendar" in your app — it's a standard calendar feed. If your app rejects webcal://, change it to https:// — same link.

If it looks out of date

Refresh timing is your calendar app's, not ours — Apple honours the interval you set, Google can take a few hours. A show you just edited catches up on the next refresh; bandvan itself is always current.

If it has stopped updating entirely, the link has likely stopped being valid — usually because you left that team. Still in it? Copy a fresh link from the Calendar screen, delete the old subscription, and subscribe again.
